Hide-Do you have an old piece of furniture you’d like to spice up with painted finishes, but aren’t quite sure where to begin? Proper preparation being essential, your instructor will cover basic repairs, and teach you how to prepare your furniture for a wide variety of applications. Students will learn how to effectively apply varnish, waxes and stains. Decorative techniques such as gilding, stencilling, frottage, image transfer, crackle finishes, and custom colour work will be practiced on wood remnants before application to your piece. You’ll even learn to mix your own chalk paint. Your instructor will provide vision and inspiration drawn from years of experience, as well as support materials, information, and a special pinterest collection compiled specifically for this class. No experience necessary. A basic materials supply list will be emailed to you upon booking. A hand sander will be a valuable tool to bring with you. Material fee of e30 applies.
