Course Delivery
The course takes place over one academic year. Learners will be expected to attend DkIT two evenings per week with the possibility of Saturday mornings periodically during the course. |

Six passes in the Leaving Certificate, including Mathematics and either Irish or English and either one Higher Level Grade C3, or a minimum of 200 points.
OR
A level of qualification equivalent to the above considered under the Recognition of Prior Learning

This one-year part-time course aims to provide students with a strong grounding and transferable skills in Digital Animation Production processes, a solid understanding of the Production Pipeline and techniques for both 2D and 3D. This course will provide participants with the required knowledge, skills and competency to assist them in gaining employment in the Digital Animation Production industry.
These skills include 3D modelling, texturing, lighting, character rigging, animation, visual effects, rendering and compositing. Students will gain vital software skills in programs such as Adobe Photoshop for asset creation in 2D and texture mapping for 3D, After Effects for building 2D animation tools along with compositing and Maya for 3D and Premiere Pro for video editing. Participants will also be equipped with skills in team work and project management.
