The BTEI provides part-time Further Education programmes for young people and adults. It aims to give participants an opportunity to combine a return to learning with family, work and other responsibilities. Programmes are offered in partnership with a number of agencies throughout the country on a flexible part-time basis. Classes are offered throughout the year in the morning, afternoons, evenings or weekends. Courses lead to a range of accreditation at levels 1-6 on the NFQ.

Participants will learn about identifying plants, winter gardening, foraging wild food and preparing the garden for any given season. Learn about organic principles, compost making, looking after the soil, poly tunnel and raised bed growing. The course also covers in detail plant propagation, sowing seeds, companion planting, garden pests, diseases and much more. Field trips are also included. This course is a must for anyone who has green fingers or those who want to explore the gardening world with either a view to progress to a QQI Level 5, nurture any existing skills or utilise your own garden!
