Hide-Students will gain knowledge of the human body, exercise and fitness. Focus on the theory and practice of injury prevention and massage. Gain skills for preventative treatment of injuries and general body massage. Students work on each other in a massage clinical professional environment with an emphasis on client care.
While working towards a QQI 5 award students have the opportunity to gain an ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Sports Massage Therapy. Students work towards a career as massage therapists in the future.

All applicants' suitability is assessed on the merit of their application forms and by the means of a ten to fifteen minute interview. Interviews will take place in May and September depending on when you apply. All late applicants should check with the College Main Office as quite frequently, we have places still available on some courses in September. Applications can be made using our online application form (see above).

•Anatomy and Physiology for Sports Massage
Includes the structure and function of the anatomical systems of the body and the effects that Sports Massage has on these systems
•Principles of Health and Fitness
Include the benefits of an active lifestyle and the effects of exercise on the body, the components of fitness, the principles of training and the importance of healthy eating
•Professional Practice in Sports Massage
Include legislation required in Sports Massage, the scope of practice and the standards relevant to the Sports Massage profession, the principles of professional practice and how to produce, maintain and store client records
