Hide-This programme is currently delivered on a three-year cycle. The next intake to Year 1 is scheduled for September 2017.
There are a limited number of advanced entry places available for Year 3 commencing September 2016. Applications are open to candidates with a Level 6 Higher Certificate (120 ECTS) in community development or a related area. Other candidates may be considered on the basis of a learning portfolio that demonstrates the achievement of learning equivalent to the learning outcomes for Years 1 and 2 of the programme. All applications will be treated on a case-by-case basis and in accordance with ITC’s policy on recognition of prior learning.

| Entry Requirements |
For entry to Year 1 applicants should have completed the Leaving Certificate or a Certificate at Level 5 of the National Framework of Qualifications in community development or a related area. Other applicants will be considered on a case-by-case basis in accordance with ITC’s policy on recognition of prior learning. Applicants may be required to attend for an interview. |

Hide-This programme aims to develop an understanding and analysis of theories and practices of leadership and community development. It will support the professional development of people who are employed in the field of community development, people who work in the community in a voluntary capacity and people with an interest in leadership and community development.
Students acquire in-depth knowledge and develop research and problem-solving skills through work and enquiry-based learning, more formally structured tuition, and self-directed learning. A variety of assessment methods such as reflective journals, presentations, research projects and portfolios, written examination and assignments are used on the programme.
