Hide-This 10 week intensive course introduces students to many of the core aspects of residential interior design, including concept development, colour theory, design principles, sketching, ergonomics, space planning and technical drawing, lighting and electrical specifications, sourcing and presenting materials, and providing material specifications.
The area of concept development is essential in interior design. This programme encourages students to discover their own creativity and be confident in applying it in their designs. It also ensures that students have the technical skills and knowledge needed to present ideas and specifications to clients and colleagues.
This course is ideal for those who have a keen interest in the area of Interior Design; it allows participants to explore their creativity, and to combine it with some challenging new technical skills.
The course is also suitable for those who wish to explore the possibility of a career change, and those who would like to enhance their current skills by further professional development. This course fosters high standards of creativity, and provides a stimulating and encouraging learning environment. The programme consists of lectures and studio sessions, and is assessed through a series of design projects and presentations.

On successful completion of this course, students may progress into the 1-year Higher National Certificate in Interior Design programme at Dublin Institute of Design, into 1st Year of the 2-year Higher National Diploma in Interior Design programme at Dublin Institute of Design, or into 1st Year of the 3-year BA in Interior Design programme at Dublin Institute of Design.
Students who progress will be exempt from certain modules, the content of which they have already covered. A fee reduction will also apply.
