When do National Learning Network courses begin?
The majority of National Learning Network programmes are open entry, which means that you can start at any time of the year. |

| Duration |
Up to 2 years.
Programmes vary in duration from a few months to three years and you may get an extension if you require it. The majority of courses are 30 hours per week, although some people attend part time particularly at the start. Normally, the course starts at 9am and finishes at 5pm, Monday to Thursday. On a Friday, courses may finish at 2.30pm in some locations. |

There are no formal entry requirements. You just need the will to succeed. Some courses do have an assessment period, this is to ensure that the course is suitable for you. National Learning Network students must be over 16 and under 66 years of age. |

The Business and IT course has been designed to give participants an opportunity to gain skills that will enable them to secure employment in an administrative capacity or to move on to third level education. Participants will work towards achieving a QQI Level 5 Major Award in Office Administration 5M1997. Where appropriate, learners will complete ECDL.
Learners progress through the programme at a pace which is suited to their individual needs and abilities. Learners’ progress will be planned with each individual through the Individual Action Planning (IAP) and Monthly Review processes.
Skills needed in the workplace are acquired through a combination of practical demonstration, instruction, supervised practice, etc.
