Programmes vary in duration from a few months to three years and you may get an extension if you require it. The majority of courses are 30 hours per week, although some people attend part time particularly at the start. Normally, the course starts at 9am and finishes at 5pm, Monday to Thursday. On a Friday, courses may finish at 2.30pm in some locations.

Students on National Learning Network courses get 25 days holidays per year (2/3 weeks in the summer and 1 week at Christmas). We will be happy to advise you of the details of your programme when you meet with us.

This training programme is designed to offer students an opportunity to explore personal, social and vocational skills and includes a high level of integration into the local community. Underpinning this programme is New Directions, a HSE person centred service for adults with disabilities. Modules on offer are delivered in a flexible manner and include activities and methods based on a cross modular approach.

All modules are delivered at QQI level 3. Designed to provide students with opportunities to learn the skills, knowledge & attitudes needed to develop personal effectiveness & self-advocacy skills, become more independent in social & vocational situations, operate in a supported community situation, progress onto further training or education.
