Comment IT Sligo is the National Centre for Training for the Toolmaking Industry and the Institute has consulted widely with industry to develop this new, nationally unique programme. Skill shortages have been identified in precision engineering, particularly for technicians working in the design and manufacture of precision products, tools and machines.
Careers or Further Progression Career Opportunities:
Graduates work as technicians in advanced manufacturing industry. They assist in design, manufacture, CNC programming and machining, automation, quality, metrology and validation roles.

Further Study Opportunities:
Graduates can progress to the Level 7 Ordinary Degree in Precision Engineering and Design, or the Level 8 Honours Degree in Precision Engineering and Design at IT Sligo, on completion of the Level 7 Ordinary Degree.
