Course Content Description
This programme provides learners with optional modules in Creative Arts, Animation and Media Production. CertHE Digital Arts and Technologies exit award also available. The programme comprises eight compulsory modules, five at Level 4 and three at Level 5, including a 40 credit point Work Based Learning module, totalling 150 credits of study with the remaining 90 credits of study achieved through Learner’s chosen options.
Subjects Taught Core modules include: V
isual Aesthetics; Media, Culture and Society; Sound Design; Introduction to Digital Film Making; Introduction to Digital Photography; Digital Video Editing and Post Production; On-line Video Content Creation; Digital Compositing; Animation Project; Digital Film Project; Digital Audio Project; Programming and Development for Apps; and Work Based Learning.
Assessment Method Assessment will be carried out by the use of coursework assignments and practical projects, including placement as part of the Work Based Learning module in Year 2.
Careers or Further Progression Progression Opportunities
On progression successful Learners may progress to Year 2 of the BSc Honours Degree in Creative Technologies at Ulster University (Magee) or BA Honours Degree in Media Studies and Production (Coleraine). Successful Learners may also transfer to other universities to complete the degree.
