•Interested applicants must hold a Level 8 qualification, or equivalent. In the case of non-Business graduates, applicants must hold a Level 8 qualification, or equivalent, in a non-Business discipline.

•Applicants who do not hold a qualification at Level 8, but who have other certified and/or experiential learning, may apply for consideration for entry to the programme under the Institute’s Recognition of Prior Learning Process.

•Applicants may be required to undertake an interview with the programme panel

•Applicants whose first language is not English must submit evidence of competency in English, please see WIT’s English Language Requirements for details.

Hide-The WIT Certificate in Management Development is a fifteen week, 30 credit programme that was developed in direct response to the demand from companies in the South East of Ireland who have an immediate shortage of cross-enterprise skills that are required for lower to middle management in modern competitive manufacturing or services organisations.

In order to make participants job ready and fit for purpose, the delivery method (lectures, seminars, site visits, mentoring etc) which is innovative and challenging utilises an intensive and practical problem based learning approach to replicate the managerial scenarios and tasks that a participant would encounter in the real world.

The programme is ideal for anyone without a business qualification who has a definite interest in leadership, management and the challenges of being part of an organisation. Incorporating modules like Project Management, Operations and Supply Chain Management, Managing People, Managing Change and Organisational Strategy. This programme provides a bedrock for anyone hoping to pursue careers in supervision or management in a wide variety of contexts.

Hide-The South East of Ireland has been decimated by the economic downturn. Organisations in the region have an immediate shortage of cross-enterprise skills for lower-middle management positions and it is affecting the growth opportunity of companies.

In response WIT have designed a 15 week programme. It does not have an in-company work placement element to it as the focus is to get the participant ready for full-time employment to fill immediate demand in a quick lead time.

The programme is intensive but it has been carefully crafted in collaboration with leading business experts and with real life world company assignments. The programme places a very strong emphasis on professional development ensuring that the graduate is ready to join the market. This is achieved through specific modules, generic skills seminars, CV and interview clinics, LinkedIn profile development and extensive industry collaboration. The course supports a mentoring programme where past WIT graduates provide guidance and support to the student. WIT also has a well-established Careers Centre and website providing support and advice to students and has significant links with industry for job opportunities. Graduates are employed in lower-middle management roles such as operational excellence, team leadership and project management.

The Certificate in Management Development is a minor award from the Higher Diploma in Business in Management and upon successful completion of the programme, graduates may apply to undertake the Higher Diploma in Business in Management and other programmes within the School for which they are eligible. The School will make available to students all relevant information which will assist them with their career development aspirations.
