Complicated grief is a largely misunderstood disorder which effects between 2 and 5% of bereaved people. It is characterised by serious impairment in functioning and an inability to engage satisfactorily with everyday life. It does not respond well to traditional therapy methods and new protocols are being developed to treat it; notably Shear’s Complicated Grief Therapy. |
