Module Objective: Development of knowledge, understanding and skills in Advance Care Planning and Advance Directives.
Module Content: Background to Advance Care Planning, ethical and legal issues, implementing an Advance Care Planning Programme. |
| Learning Outcomes |
On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
◾Critically discuss the rationale for Advance Care Planning,
◾Delineate the steps involved in undertaking Advance Care Planning and completing an Advance Care Directive,
◾Critically evaluate the ethical and legal issues that arise in relation to Advance Care Planning,
◾Understand the process of systematically implementing Advance Care Planning models in Long Term Care settings.
