• The Diploma in Exercise & Health Fitness (DEHF), NFQ Level 7, at honours grade level 2.2 or higher or an equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline.
• A Successful interview. Interviews can be completed via face to face, telephone or Skype.
Please note:
• Applications for equivalency will be assessed on an individual basis through the NCEF/UL Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Scheme *.
• RPL Applicants are required to complete a BSc in Exercise and Health POL as part of their application.
• A Recognition of Prior Learning fee of €125 applies to all applicants required to submit a Portfolio of Learning. On successful acceptance the fee is deducted from the overall programme fee.

Whilst the entry requirement for B.Sc. is the DEHF, applicants with other qualifications or experience can apply for admission through the RPL Scheme. The NCEF/UL RPL Assessment Board oversees the process by which this RPL scheme operates.
These individuals must show prior learning obtained through life experience/formal education/work experience by completing an official NCEF Portfolio of Learning Form (POL). this POL must be completed and submitted to the NCEF Head Office along with €125 RPL fee. If successful the RPL fee will be deducted against course fees.

Application Procedure for entry to Year 4

•Submit the application form and copy of your DEHF results or equivalent. Please also submit a detailed CV and two written references.
•For applicants that do not hold the DEHF or equivalent, you will need to apply through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). For more information please see the RPL tab on this page. A cost of €125 applies to all Bsc in Exercise and Health POL applicants however if successful this fee is then deducted from the cost of overall programme fees. Please submit RPL fee with initial application.
•If you fulfil all the criteria you will be invited to attend for interview.
•The completed acceptance forms and required documentation and fees are returned to head office by the deadline date given in the acceptance pack.
•Please note once accepted onto the programme all correspondence will be sent via email so it is vital to ensure you have a valid current email address and that this address is clearly stated on your application form.
•Successful interview applicants will then submit the completed acceptance forms and required documentation and €995 deposit to head office by the deadline date given in the acceptance pack.

The B.Sc. offers individuals the opportunity to research, study and practice at an advanced level in the area of Exercise & Health Fitness.
Participants who are successful will be awarded the B.Sc. from the University of Limerick.
Aim:
Graduates of the B.Sc. are qualified to apply their knowledge, skills and competencies so as to provide direction, leadership and professional expertise at the highest management & promotional levels in the Exercise & Health Fitness sector.
Employment varies from areas such as business management, human resources, event management and marketing in Exercise & Health Fitness to public service areas such as health promotion, and researching /developing policy for diverse populations.
Course Details:
•Elements of the B.Sc. year will include traditional classroom based learning, e–learning and blended learning including electronic support structures for collaborative interaction. Comprehensive teaching and learning materials have been developed for all modules. These materials include interactive resources for e-learning.
Those delivering on the course are drawn from the NCEF, the Faculty of Education and Health Sciences and the Kemmy Business School at UL. Guest Lecturers with relevant backgrounds will also present on the programme.
•The course will span over three academic semesters in its final year, with 16 contact weekends and will be offered every alternate academic year subject to demand.
