Funding:
The full-time DEHF course is eligible for SUSI funding. SUSI (Student Universal Support Ireland) funding is available for full time 2 year major award courses however funding decisions are based on an individual’s personal circumstances. Please apply through www.susi.ie to see if you qualify. Students have also secured funding or part funding in the past from other local government support agencies however this is on a completely individual basis.

Hide-Whilst the entry requirement for both Tutor and Practitioner Education is the HCEHF, applicants with other qualifications or experience can apply for admission through the RPL Scheme. The NCEF/UL RPL Assessment Board oversees the process by which this RPL scheme operates. These individuals must show prior learning obtained through life experience/formal education/work experience by completing an official NCEF Portfolio of Learning Form (POL). This POL must be completed and submitted to the NCEF Head Office along with €125 RPL fee. If successful the RPL fee will be deducted against course fees.

•The DEHF is placed at Level 7 on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) and Level 6 on the European Qualifications Framework (EQF).
•ECTS credits can be used towards the NCEF B.Sc. in Exercise & Health Fitness through a flexible learning pathway and also towards other University qualifications in Europe who follow ECTS credit value system.
•The NCEF is accredited by and affiliated with the European Health Fitness Association (EHFA).

Hide-The Diploma in Exercise & Health Fitness (DEHF) is Year 3 of the B.Sc. and offers individuals the opportunity to research, study and practice at an advanced level in the area of Exercise & Health Fitness. Participants who are successful will be awarded the Diploma from the University of Limerick and are eligible to apply for entry onto Year 4 B.Sc. in Exercise & Health Fitness.
The DEHF Year 3 has two electives which students can choose from:
Elective 1 - Tutor Education provides fitness professionals with the skills, knowledge and competencies to carry out the functions of a tutor at CEHF and HCEHF Specialist Courses.
Elective 2 – Advanced Practitioner – work at higher specialised levels within the industry, as specialist instructors and/or in supervisory management positions.
Year 3 Details:
•Electives 1 and 2 of the DEHF are offered on a part-time weekend basis every alternative academic year. The course is offered mainly at the University of Limerick campus and runs from September to April inclusive.
•The 17/18 academic year the course will be offered on a full-time day time basis at the University of Limerick
