•Applicants should hold the Irish Leaving Certificate with minimum Grade D3 in five Ordinary Level subjects (including Maths, Irish or another language, and English) OR an approved equivalent qualification. Other standards within Leaving Certificate or other levels of education will be considered under the NCEF/UL Recognised Prior Learning (RPL) scheme*
•All qualification documentation must be submitted in the English language.
•Non EU Nationals must submit a Study Visa, copies of passport documentation and proof of employment for the last 5 years (Please note originals may be requested)
•Applicants should have a commitment to encouraging others to take part in healthy activity, a desire to become a safe and competent instructor and have a confident, enthusiastic and adaptable personality.
•Experience of participation in a fitness activity or a particular sport is important whilst good rhythm and co-ordination is also desirable.
•Applicants should have good communication skills and enjoy working with people.
•Selection for the programme will be based on the Application Form.
•NCEF reserves the right to interview if required.

Year Two Entry Requirements
Students must successfully complete year 1 of the Higher Certificate or hold the Certificate in Exercise and Health Fitness or an approved equivalent (e.g. NCEF Level 1).
Applicants applying for equivalency of a qualification must apply through the Recognition of Prior Learning Scheme (RPL) by completing and submitting a Portfolio of Learning (POL) and €125 RPL.

The entry requirement for Year 2 of the Higher Certificate in Exercise and Health Fitness (HCEHF) and for any module within year 2 is CEHF or "NCEF Level 1 current" (former CEHF qualification title).
However, applicants with other qualifications or experience can apply for admission through the RPL Scheme. The NCEF/UL RPL Assessment Board oversees the process by which this RPL scheme operates.
POL (Portfolio of Learning)
Such individuals must show prior learning obtained through life experience, formal education or work experience. The basis upon which the RPL assessment is made is by way of a review of an applicant's completed POL form.

A discount of €125 applies to full fee payments i.e. €3,000 (inclusive of non-refundable deposit of €995) payable on acceptance of your place on the course.

Second Instalment of €2,130 is due on or before 23rd August 2017
Please Note:
•Once students are registered all fees paid are non-refundable/nontransferable.
•Module choices cannot be amended/changed after registration.
•If you are seeking credit for ECTS credits already obtained through the NCEF/UL system then you may not be required to complete 60 ECTS credits within year 2. The fees will vary depending on the recommendation of the RPL Board. You will be required to apply for credit through the RPL Scheme.
•Provisional HCEHF Year 2 fees for 2018/2019 are €3,125 however this may be subject to change for the new academic year.

Hide-Year 1 Students are providesed with the skills and competencies to provide motivating, safe and effective group fitness teaching across many class types including:
•Circuit training and HITT type training
•Body Conditioning
•Step Training
•Strength Training
•Exercise to Music
•Group Fitness Assessment
•Supervise and instruct on the gym floor and exercise studio
Graduates will also have the skills and knowledge to deliver one to one training by conducting appropriate fitness assessments and designing safe and effective exercise programmes to the general public (adults 18yrs+) based on their individual needs, whether it be strength training, weight loss, training for an endurance event or general fitness. You can also work as a physical trainer with local groups, club sports teams and corporate fitness and wellness programmes. All graduates are awarded with the QQI Level 5 award in Occupational First Aid (OFA).
Year 2 provides our students with the opportunity to become Advanced Specialists by specialising y in areas such as Personal Training, Strength & Conditioning for Sport Pilates & Corrective Exercise or Active Aging for the Older Adult. Within Year 2 you will be required to earn 60 ECTS credits within one academic year.
For example if you decide that the courses you wish to complete are Strength and Conditioning for Sport, and Personal Training then you must start in the Autumn Semester (Sept to December) and finish by the end of the Spring Semester (January to April) e.g. Strength & Conditioning for Sport in Autumn and Personal Training in Spring.
•Year 2 Modules on offer as part of the HCEHF Year 2 can vary each academic semester/year. The mode of delivery-contact, e-Learning, Blended Learning varies for each module within year 2.
•Students can exit after Year 1, however an Exit Fee will apply.
•Graduates who have already completed the CEHF or an equivalent qualification, or individuals who hold the NCEF Level 1 awarded by the PEAI can enter Year 2 of the HCEHF.
The HCEHF requires the successful completion of 120 ECTS Credits - 60 ECTS credits in Year 1 and 60 ECTS credits in Year 2, which must span over two consecutive academic semesters (autumn and spring): 30 ECTS credits per semester.
