The BTEI provides part-time Further Education programmes for young people and adults. It aims to give participants an opportunity to combine a return to learning with family, work and other responsibilities. Programmes are offered in partnership with a number of agencies throughout the country on a flexible part-time basis. Classes are offered throughout the year in the morning, afternoons, evenings or weekends. Courses lead to a range of accreditation at levels 1-6 on the NFQ.

Hide-Course Aims
This course covers the basics of Office Skills and ensures the learner is comfortable using computers and has good IT Skills. It will allow the learners to progress on to do a variety of QQI Level 5 courses in Rathmines College or other ETBs including Certificate in Business – Finance or IT, Certificate in Office Administration, Certificate in Marketing, Certificate in Legal Studies and if it is found they have an aptitude for Maths the Certificate in Computer Programming.
Course Requirements
This course is suitable for those who have not achieved upper second level education.
Mature and young applicants welcome.
All applicants whose first language is not English will be tested at entry.
All applicants will be interviewed.
Admission to the course is subject to the student/applicant being suitable for the course. The applicant must be likely to contribute positively and benefit from taking part in the course.

Modules covered: Office Skills, Communications, Business English, Reception, Customer Service, Maths, Word Processing, Work Experience. Those whose English is not their first language will also attend English as a Second Language
Office Skills is a part time Back to Education Initiative Programme (BTEI) which allows learners to get good basic Office Skills.
The aim of the Back to Education Initiative is to increase the participation of young people and adults with less than upper second level education in an accredited learning opportunity which will lead to an award on the National Framework of Qualifications to facilitate their access, transfer and progression to other education or employment pathways.
