Approximately 120 overseas companies have plants in Ireland including 9 of the 10 largest pharmaceutical companies in the world. Personnel with scientific knowledge in areas such as chemistry, biology, microbiology and laboratory analytical skills are essential for this industry sector.
The main focus of this course is to enhance the scientific knowledge and laboratory skills of the participants in a range of applied science fields. This course has assisted many graduates to progress to Higher Education in Ireland or the UK. Graduates have also used it to gain employment in the pharmaceutical industry.

Hide-Applications are invited any time up to the end of August. However, it is advisable to apply before mid-August to ensure places are still available on the course. All applicants' suitability is assessed on the merit of their application forms and by the means of a ten to fifteen minute interview. Interviews will take place in May and September depending on when you apply. All late applicants should check with the College Main Office as quite frequently, we have places still available on some courses in September. Applications can be made using our online application form (see above).

| Entry Requirements |
Leaving Certificate or equivalent, ideally a minimum of a pass in Mathematics at Ordinary Level Leaving Certificate. For mature applicants experience will be considered in lieu of formal qualifications. Suitable candidates who show aptitude for the course will be selected by interview.
Work Experience: One day per week over the full academic year. |
