Hide-Nurses care for acutely ill patients in various clinical areas. When caring for such patients, a deeper more specialised knowledge base is required to effectively implement a high standard of care. Nurses need to have a knowledge base in which he / she can identify subtle deterioration in the patient’s condition and in doing so, incorporate timely and appropriate management.
The course is designed to enhance the care that nurses deliver during the challenging time of acute patient deterioration. The course will provide you with a framework for critically analysing and treating a patient at risk in order to ensure they receive appropriate care in a timely fashion. The confidence and competence that comes with critical analysis will help you to understand the psychological, social, ethical and legal implications on critical illness, and the effects these may have on the patient, relative or multi-disciplinary team.
