People who are in receipt of an old age pension or in receipt of a social welfare payment are entitled to a concession. To obtain this concession the college will need a photocopy of documentation to show what payment you are on. This must be presented on registration along with your pps number. Hide-Participants will be afforded the opportunity to acquire the basic stitches and techniques of crochet, knitting and embroidery, utilizing them in various projects. For example, in crochet and knitting, participants will be shown how to construct popular fashionable accessories, such as, scarves, cowls, small bags, baby cardigans and blankets, and some jewellery items. In the area of embroidery, stitch and techniques particular to specific embroideries, such as, Mountmellick, Sprigging and traditional surface embroidery, will be used to create different projects.
Participants will also be instructed how to use traditional embroidery stitches to embellish crocheted, knitted and fabric garments.
