The course is designed to give the student an insight into the design and making of craftwork.
The areas of study covered on the course at Level 6 are: Batik, Creative Application Ceramics, Design, Drawing, Printmaking, Silversmithing & Fabrication and Woven Textiles, Communications, Work Experience and Exhibition Techniques.The course is further complemented by a series of visiting lecturers on a broad range of craft/art related subjects, visits to exhibitions and field trips. |

Graduate Show
This is held annually and usually during the last week of May. Second year students exhibit their work in the areas of Batik, Ceramics, Drawing, Metalcraft, Printmaking and Woven Textiles.

Grennan Mill has no particular Open Day but we do have an open door policy and you are welcome to call the school to make an appointment so that you can be shown around the school |

•Department of Education and Skills PLC Participant Contribution Fee of €200.00. This contribution is an annual charge. The following categories of participant are exempt from paying the contribution: Full medical card holders in their own right and their dependent children; those who are eligible under the student grant scheme; those in receipt of the Back to Education Allowance (B TEA) or Vocational Training Opportunity Scheme (VTOS) allowances.
•QQI (formerly FETAC) examination fees are £50.00 Level 5 & €80 Level 6.
•Course materials fees are €500.00 (Students who are exempted from the participant contribution will still have to pay the course charge)

| Entry Requirements |
•A good Leaving Certificate or equivalent is the norm but exceptions may be made in certain cases. There is no age limit.
•A portfolio of work, which should include: design work, sketch books, life drawings, nature studies, craftwork and photographs of any large 3D work. (about 25 pieces in total)
•Interview.
•A confidential report from your school principal or art teacher must accompany the application form. |
