Hide-This course will provide students with an overview of the salient aspects of employment law applicable at each stage of the life cycle of the employment relationship. This will include the theory, key pieces of legislation and relevant case law to highlight the practical application of employment law to the employment relationship. The course will enable delegates to understand the legal environment within which the employment relationship exists.
This course is suitable for HR professionals who advise line managers on a range of employee issues, line managers who want to further understand the mutual obligations of the employer and employee, business owners who do not have a HR function and need to understand their obligations under employment law, HR professionals who work in the US or UK and have responsibility for an Irish operation/ subsidiary.
Students will gain a greater understanding of the many legal facets of the employment relationship and will be able to understand the legal obligations of managing the employment lifecycle from inception to end, and identify and minimise problems that arise throughout the course of the employment lifecycle.
