Hide-Candidates for the PhD are usually registered first as MLitt students within the UCD College of Human Sciences structured postgraduate research programme, and their registration is changed later if appropriate.
Those interested in these programmes should note that it is likely that the School will want to discuss your research plans with you in some detail before advising you to make a formal application. We have to ensure that your proposal is viable and that there are supervisors available who are competent to supervise research in your proposed area of study.
Anyone interested in applying to undertake a MLitt or PhD at UCD SILS should contact Dr. Norman Makoto Su, the Director of the MA, MLitt and PhD Programmes.
If English is not your native language, you will need to fulfill UCD's language requirements (e.g., through the TOEFL exam).

Students on this programme complete a number of advanced modules and can also avail of research skills workshops. They then undertake a dissertation, which would be an original contribution to research in the field of Information and Library Studies. |
