PhD students receive training in reproductive biology, genomics, proteomics, experimental design & data analysis, project development skills and statistical methods.
The Reproductive Biology Research Cluster is a research initiative focused on investigating solutions to reproductive problems in cattle. The Cluster was formed in 2007 with major funding from Science Foundation Ireland, University College Dublin and Teagasc.
The Cluster brings together multidisciplinary scientists, bioengineers and industrial partners.
Mission
The ultimate objective is to develop approaches and/or technologies to improve fertility in dairy cows but with implications for the treatment of infertility in other species, particularly humans.
Vision
Carry out high quality, hypothesis driven research that is focused on clearly identified-reproductive problems in cattle.
Generate new knowledge in an area that is of strategic importance to the Irish Economy. Be a centre of research and training excellence.
Commercialise disgnostic and therapeutic products to improve reproductive efficiency.
Our Current Research Projects
The RBRC actively sources & applies for new funding within its research brief. The research projects listed below are funded by both national and international bodies, secured by RBRC researchers through the leveraging of the SFI SRC funding.
