This specialist course is for qualified fitness instructors who wish to enhance their knowledge and skills and work as a personal trainer with clients on a one to one basis and also learn the necessary skills for Leisure Facility Supervisory Management. Personal Trainers can establish their own business or work in a commercial fitness facility providing personal training.
The course content is aimed at supervisory /duty management level and provides students with teaching and instruction qualifications as Personal Trainers and Swim Teachers. Students must hold the Exercise and Health Fitness (CEHF) or an approved equivalent fitness instructor qualification at QQI Level 5 to complete this course.
Graduates receive the QQI Level 6 Award in Leisure Facility Supervisory Management and Personal Training Specialist Module accredited by the University of Limerick.

Students can avail of the following add on options during the year at an additional cost:
•Certificate in Exercise and Health Fitness (CEHF) accredited by the University of Limerick
Conversion Course is expected to be offered to students who meet specific criteria. The CEHF graduate predominantly gains employment as a group fitness instructor and /or as a gym instructor in gyms and fitness clubs, some of which are hotel based or in community settings.

All applicants' suitability is assessed on the merit of their application forms and by the means of a ten to fifteen minute interview. Interviews will take place in May and September depending on when you apply. All late applicants should check with the College Main Office as quite frequently, we have places still available on some courses in September. Applications can be made using our online application form (see above).
