Hide-Applications are invited any time up to the end of August. However, it is advisable to apply before mid-August to ensure places are still available on the course. All applicants' suitability is assessed on the merit of their application forms and by the means of a ten to fifteen minute interview. Interviews will take place in May and September depending on when you apply. All late applicants should check with the College Main Office as quite frequently, we have places still available on some courses in September. Applications can be made using our online application form (see above).

•Furniture Design 6N5449
his subject will provide an understanding of the strategies used in furniture design. It addresses the function, appearance, construction and sustainability of furniture designs.
•Furniture Making with Machinery 6N0607
The subject is designed to introduce the learner to practical skills of Furniture Making through the safe use of portable power tools and woodworking machinery.
•History of Furniture 6N5448
This subject provides a historical background of furniture from ancient Greece to the present day with particular emphasis on construction and styles and their evolution.
•3D Design Materials 6N4905
This module focuses on 3D materials, their use in design and the processes used to work them. There is a particular emphasis on CNC routing, laser cutting and 3D printing, and on the drawing and design software that supports these tools.
•Computer Aided Draughting 6N3652
This subject has been designed to expand on the Level 5 module to provide a deeper understanding of draughting particularly for furniture working drawings.
•Wood Finishing 6N0724
Develops the practical skills of spraying and hand finishing as required in the furniture making industry as well as for furniture restoration.
•Work Experience 6N1946
This module helps students to place themselves in a professional work environment. This gives them real hands on experience in their chosen field.
•Communications 6N1950
This module helps the student to develop the necessary skills to represent themselves professionally in their practise. This is done through investigating and responding to the specific needs of the industry.

Leaving Certificate, QQI Level 5 in a related area, or equivalent. All applicants are interviewed and places are awarded on suitability. Mature students without formal qualifications are most welcome to apply. |
