It is ideal both for school-leavers and mature people seeking a formal qualification. Having successfully completed year one, students can, depending on performance at level 5, progress to the QQI Level 6 Supervision in Childcare Award in Marino College.

Students applying for courses involving working with children and or vulnerable adults, are required to undergo Garda Vetting procedures prior to commencing placements.
