Course Fee Fees
There is a total cost of €650 for this course. It is broken down as follows:

- Student Services €195 (This consists of a student services fee of €160 and a non-refundable deposit of €35,

- Department of Education & Skills(unless holder of Medical Card) €200,

- QQI Exam Fees €50 (unless medical card holder)

- Occupational First Aid

- Uniform (Jumper and High Vis Jacket)

Financial Support The range of financial support available to students intending to attend Further Education includes: Maintenance Grant Scheme, Special Rates of Maintenance Grants, and Fund for Students with
Disabilites.

VTOS - Vocational Training Opportunities Scheme
To be eligible you must be over 21 years, and 6 months in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment. This grant may include the cost of some books, lunch and travel expenses.
Interview 1st round of interviews for all courses is in May 2018. Final round is at the end of August for remaining places.

Entry Requirements Entry Requirements:
Leaving Certificate standard or equivalent educational qualification or previous work experience in the security industry.

Garda Vetting:
All students on the Security Studies course must receive Garda Vetting. Without this, students will not be allowed on work placement and therefore will not be able to complete the course.

Successful completion of Security Studies QQI Level 5 (minimum of 3 distinctions) provides entry to QQI Level 6 Security Operations and Administration and Higher Education provided in Templemore College. Graduates from the course are qualified to register with the Private Security Authority, established under the Private Security Services Act (2004).
