Education: Learners do not need any previous formal qualification.
• Aptitude: Learners who are ready to take on new tasks, can follow direction and are moving towards independent learning.
• Previous Experience: No previous experience required. Suitable for learners who wish to progress to employment or further education and training through the attainment of a QQI level 3 major award.

The 2016 weekly allowances are as follows:
Trainee(s) maximum payment per week
16 - 17 years €40
18 years and over €160.00 (with some exceptions)
If you are over 18 years of age and you are currently getting a social welfare payment of more than €160, you will continue to get the higher amount while you are on Youthreach as long as you are eligible. If you were getting a reduced age-related Jobseeker's Allowance (JA) before starting Youthreach any means that were deducted from your JA will also be deducted from your training allowance. This also applies to people getting a reduced age-related basic Supplementary Welfare Allowance (SWA).

It enables the learner develop personal qualities and strengths to make informed choices to pursue a range of employment opportunities or to progress to further education or training.

Further Details
The centre offers a two year time frame to complete the courses, this allows the learner time to gain the competencies in supported environment. The centre offers special education needs supports and psychological supports. The centre provides an advocacy progression programme along side work experience to ensure learners get the best support in progressing from the course. The centre takes learners through out the year.
