Hide-What is the programme about?
This exciting programme offers students the chance to study in the dynamic and expressive world of Animation and Motion Design. LSAD has recognised the need for an undergraduate programme that will provide students with the skillsets necessary to gain employment in the Animation and Motion Design field.
The programme has incorporated into its curriculum a theoretical and critical approach to the development and research of digital art forms as well as a historical understanding of how traditional media, drawing, painting, sculpture, video and installation art have been transposed or have been incorporated into animation or art in motion.
Animation and Motion Design is multi-disciplinary in design, bringing together the traditional art and design skills such as drawing and illustration and combining them with the latest in digital methodologies.

Hide-Year 2:
This year focuses on professional skills development; technical and procedural practices start to reach an advanced level. Attitudes to how these skills can be deployed in support of creativity and innovation are established, and communication skills are advanced through group and project work.
Year 3: This year prepares students for employment by developing skills that combine theory with technical proficiency for creating media content. Students will be enabled to become a confident design practitioner and learn to develop a mature visual style by a sustained personal effort throughout a range of projects; it is structured so that students will receive mentoring from practitioners from digital media companies.
Year 4: In the fourth year, students will undertake significant design projects, individually and in a cross-discipline group and will be expected to demonstrate an understanding of the contextual factors that inform Motion Design and Animation practices.
