• Credit Cards and Laser Cards are accepted on enrolment nights only
• No cash will be accepted due to security reasons.
Refunds:
Course fees will be refunded ONLY if a course does not form, is already full, or on the grounds of certified illness or changes in working conditions. Requests for refunds, with supporting documentation where appropriate, must be submitted in writing with receipt to the Principal. Where a refund is deemed justified, a small handling fee will apply.
Student Property:
The College regrets that responsibility cannot be accepted for the loss or damage to the property of students.
Transfers Between Courses:
Transfers are permissible only within the first two weeks of the commencement of a course and subject to availability of places.
Literacy:
Rathmines college offers literacy classes at no cost on Monday 7.30-9.00pm &Tuesday from 5.30 to 7.30pm. For more information contact the college.

Session 1 Introduction
Introduction to human development and the processes of development. Also discussed are the nature/nurture debate and the extent to which we are products of our genes or/and our environments.
Sessions 2 & 3 Intelligence
Intelligence: Intelligence testing, IQ tests and intellectual development include the development of children’s thinking-the theories of jean Piaget and Lev Vygotski. Also discussed will be the Gardener’s theory of multiple intelligence.
Sessions 4 & 5 Emotions
Emotions, including emotional intelligence, social and emotional development, attachment theory, development of pro-social behaviour and aggression in children.
Sessions 6 & 7 Cognitive Psychology
Problem solving-learn problem solving skills that can help people deal with everyday problems such as bullying and also how these skills can help you to make better choices and decisions leading to a happier more fulfilled life. Memory, Attention and Imagination-understanding how the mind works can help us to achieve our goals and expectations in life.
Session 8 Social and personal development
Social and personal development: including Erikson’s lifespan development theory, the development of self and creativity. Also discussed would be the importance of growth and development at the different levels of life i.e. the personal, the inter-personal, the community and the inter-community levels of development.
