Hide-Introducing META
The Department of Arts Education and Physical Education at Mary Immaculate College, University of Limerick, is once again offering its exciting new postgraduate programme in education and the arts: META (MA in Education and The Arts).
META is offered on a part-time basis over two years. It is designed for practising teachers (both primary and secondary) who have a particular interest and aptitude in the arts and education, artists who specialise in educational practice and policymakers or administrators in the arts in education.
META has a collective arts approach. It is neither an integrated arts programme nor a programme in any specific discipline and will examine the issues, practices and theories that underpin music, visual arts, dance, drama and literature in education.
In part one of the programme a range of modules will be offered via weekday evening classes (two evenings per week in the Autumn and one per week in the Spring) two intensive weekends (Spring), and a week- long summer school at Mary Immaculate College.
In part two of the programme some research seminars will take place. The remainder of the programme will consist of research and the completion of a dissertation.
