Hide-Advance your technical and artistic skills in the Film and TV Production Level 6 course in Kinsale College. This course builds upon students skills gained on our level 5 course and grows their expertise and professional training for the Film and TV and creative industries.
In this one-year course, students will write, shoot and edit their own films using special effects, lighting, audio recording and editing skills. Students have the opportunity to work collaboratively in all aspects of film crew roles and pursue their own creative interests.
Experienced teachers guide students through all aspects of Film and TV production and students have access to their own editing suite (iMac with Adobe Premiere Pro) and HD video equipment.
The majority of this course is practical rather than theory based, which allows students to produce varied and substantial portfolios. Graduates are ready to enter the Film and TV industry or continue on to further their education and training. Video and digital production skills play a central role in today’s digital society, skills learned at Kinsale College with serve students in any career path they choose to take.

GARDA VETTING
Kinsale College is committed to practices that safeguard the welfare of students, young people and vulnerable adults. Garda Vetting is conducted on students attending courses where interaction with children or vulnerable adults is a feature of the course.
WORK PLACEMENT/EXPERIENCE
Participants will be required to undertake 10 days of work placement in a suitable area. The college will assist participants in identifying suitable placements. |

The College is funded primarily by the European Social Fund there are no tuition fees for all EU Nationals.
€250 Student Services Fee
These services include the supply of certain classroom and study materials, field trips, industrial site visits, facilitating the visits of guest lecturers, the provision of extra training (examples include manual handling, patient handling, conflict resolution and leadership courses), free IT and printing supports for students, the availability of many leisure and recreational pursuits and the ongoing support of College teams and societies.
Exemptions: There are no exemptions from this charge; however a student whose VTOS place has been confirmed will be refunded the charge.
€200 Department of Education and Skills (DES)
Programme Participant Contribution Since Budget 2010 the DES has stipulated that all participants on Further Education (FE) courses are required to pay €200 to secure their place on their chosen course.
Exemptions: All students who are holders of a Medical Card or a dependant of a Medical Card holder, receive VTOS or BTEA are exempt from paying this charge. Students who successfully apply for and receive a student maintenance grant will be refunded this charge.
OTHER COSTS
Some courses incur an extra cost which is related to kits, uniforms, manuals etc. (e.g.Professional Cookery course and Outdoor Education course.)
Exemptions: All students who receive VTOS are exempt from paying examination fees; students who are
holders of a Medical Card or a dependant of a Medical Card holder are exempt from paying QQI examination fees only.

VTOS
The Vocational Training Opportunities Scheme (VTOS) provides a range of courses to meet the education and training needs of unemployed people. This scheme allows successful applicants to keep their Social Welfare Allowances while attending their course in the college.
Please note: Places are LIMITED on the VTOS programme and are prioritised on the basis of:
(i) Educational need
(ii) Period of time in receipt of Social Welfare payments
BTEA
The Back to Education Allowance (BTEA) is a scheme for unemployed people, lone parents and people with disabilities who are getting certain payments from the Department of Social Protection. DSP are the decision makers in relation to who will be awarded BTEA. The allowance can be paid to people who wish to undertake approved second or third level courses of education. BTEA is not an unemployment payment. This weekly allowance is not means tested and you can work part-time without affecting your BTEA payment. Commerce is eligible for BTEA as long as the applicant is progressing their level of education qualification i.e. if an applicant has a level 5 qualification on the National framework of Qualifications (NFQ) they must undertake a course that leads to a level 6 qualification at least. APPLICATION PROCESS
Step 1: COMPLETE THE APPLICATION FORM
The application form can be completed online at www.kinsalecollege.ie. When you apply online you will receive a personal account and ID, this will enable you to view all college correspondence in relation to your application. (Applicants can complete the application on-line in the college if required)
Step 2: ATTEND FOR INTERVIEW.
Applicants will be invited for interview at the college.
Interviews are held a number of times per year from Springtime through to course commencement. The
interview simply acts to match the applicant against the course in terms of suitability, commitment and expectation.
Step 3: ACCEPT PLACE ON COURSE
Successful applicants will be notified of the offer of a place on a college course by post and by e-mail. Applicants must secure this place by paying the relevant Course Fee before a set date. Failure to do so may result in the place being offered to another applicant.
Step 4: REGISTRATION AND INDUCTION
When students are offered a place on a course the notification will also contain information regarding dates for registration and induction. All students must attend the college on these designated dates.

For entry to Level 6 a full QQI Level 5 in a complementary area is required. All applicants will be required to attend an interview. An offer of a place on this course means that the applicant has met the minimum entry requirements set out and satisfactory presentation at the interview. |
