Work Placement
all courses involve work placement one day per week. Garda vetting is a requirement for Columba College and all work placements. The application form for Garda vetting is available at the school office.
Course Fee The following fees apply to all courses:
non refundable deposit €50
Administration fee €50
QQI exam fee €50

In addition, students may have to pay the Government participant contribution of €200 if they are not eligible for an exemption under the criteria outlined below.
Financial Support

Expand+Students attending full-time approved courses in Columba College may be eligible to apply for a maintenance grant or Back to Education allowance. You do not have to pay the participant contribution if you:

• All Applicants required to attend for interview.
Assessment Method Examinations and Assessment
All subjects are examined by Quality and Qualification Ireland (QQI)
Assessment is a combination of continuous assessment written and practical examinations.
Careers or Further Progression Career Options
Students obtaining certification in Sport and Recreation may progress to Further training at selected third level colleges including courses linked to the Athlone Institute of Technology under the Higher Education Links Scheme. Other options include entering direct employment within the Sport and Recreation industry such as;
