Aims
To give students the opportunity to make an informed decision about courses in colleges of Art and Design and careers in related areas. Students will learn how to generate ideas for a range of art and design disciplines with the aim of identifying their area of study when progressing to third level education. |

All applications will be acknowledged by post or email. Applications will be accepted from January 2017 for the first round of interviews each, usually held in May. All applicants will be invited to an interview to ascertain their suitability for the course. Further applications are accepted over the summer months and similar interviews take place in early September for any remaining vacancies. All applicants will be notified by post as to the results of the interview.

Applications are invited from students who have completed Leaving Certificate or equivalent. Applicants will be invited for interview and to present examples of previous work. Mature students and recent school leavers are also welcome to apply. |
| Careers or Further Progression |
Portfolio preparation for Third Level Education is the main component of this course. Students can continue their studies in their chosen area or specialism at one of the many Third Level Colleges of Art, Craft and Design in Ireland or the UK, or progress to a career in a related area.
Graduates of Drogheda Institute of Further Education have gone on to study at: CIT, NCAD, DIT, Sligo, GMIT, AIT, University of Ulster, IADT, UWC (Cardiff), LIT, WWSUTA (Carmarthen). |
