Applicants aged 20 or younger must have five passes (including English and either Maths or Accounting) on Ordinary Level papers or four passes including two higher level subjects.
These entry criteria do not apply to mature students aged 21 or older.
AT2 - Accounting Technician Year 2
Students must have completed Year 1 of the Accounting Technician course before registering for Year 2. It is possible to continue to Year 2 while no more than one of either the Law and Ethics or Business Management modules is outstanding from Year 1.

Students commencing Night Courses at BFEI from September 2016 may be eligible for a discount on fees of 10% of tuition (maximum discount of €25 applies).
This discount is available to Senior Citizens (on proof of age - passport/driving licence) and those on Jobseekers' Allowance/Benefit (proof from Department of Social Protection required e.g. stamped letter) and full time students at DDLETB colleges.
Please note that all QQI accredited course fees include €20 assessment fees - no discount can be applied on this amount of the tuition fee.
In order to avail of this discount please bring evidence along to the Night School Office when applying for a course. Please note that if you choose to apply online through our website it is not possible to avail of this discount
The discount is solely made on tuition fees as published in the Night School Prospectus. The discount cannot be applied retrospectively once a course booking has been completed. In all cases, students will be required to pay examination or material fees in full.

The Accounting Technician Ireland (formerly IATI) course is provided in both the day and night school at SCD.
SCD has worked with Accounting Technicians Ireland for over twenty years and has achieved a consistently excellent standard. Many of our graduates are honoured annually in achieving placement in the top ten for all students completing examinations in both the first and second years.
In recent years, several of the full and part time students were distinguished in both the Year 1 and Year 2 exams, achieving first, second, fifth, sixth and ninth places in Ireland.

Exam results are generally available in early July (May sitting) and late September (August sitting) and are sent directly to the student by Accounting Technicians Ireland.
On passing all Certificate (Year 1) examinations, students are awarded the Certificate for Accounting Technicians.
Year 2
Students take examinations in May each year. Repeat sittings are taken in August. All examinations are set and graded independently of the Institute by Accounting Technicians Ireland.
Exam results are generally available in July (May sitting) and late September (August sitting) and are sent directly to the student by Accounting Technicians Ireland.
On successful completion of Second Year students may become Affiliate Members of Accounting Technicians Ireland allowing them to maintain their professional affiliation while they complete the work experience requirement of the Diploma.
When graduates have completed two years of approved relevant work experience, students are awarded the Diploma for Accounting Technicians.
