PhD candidates should normally have a high honours standard in a relevant academic discipline at primary degree level or equivalent together with the support of an academic staff member who is approved by the College to supervise the research in terms of its nature and scope.

REMEDI offers both MSc and PhD degrees within our research areas as described below. Admission to a research degree is at the discretion of the potential supervisor, the Head of Discipline and the College of Science and is based on a proposal by the applicant following discussion with the member of academic staff who research area is most appropriate. Applicants should hold an honours degree (Second Class Honours, minimum). Specialisation at undergraduate level in an area relevant to the proposed research is highly desirable.
REMEDI researchers have established expertise in gene therapy, stem cell biology, biomaterial science, immunology and medical devise technologies, all essential elements of minimally invasive approaches to regenerative medicine. Research programmes are in place to develop novel therapies for cardiovascular, athritis/orthopaedic and neural applications aspect of its research programmes towards the clinic.
