Refund Policy:
Programmes must be self-financing. For a class to begin there must be a minimum number of participants. If a class does not go ahead participants will be notified as soon as possible and given a choice of transferring to a different course or a full refund. No refunds are payable under any circumstances once the course commences. |

LMETB allows a 20% discount for those in receipt of social welfare. This applies only when the same person is paying for the course and not receiving funding from an outside body. A Completed social welfare discount form must be furnished in order to process discount. You can download a Social Welfare discount form from the college website. |

- Be aware of course assessment requirements
- To submit course work on time
- To have all coursework clearly labeled with name, date or birth and PPS number
- Have paid examination fee (where paid separately)
Special Course Requirements:
Garda vetting may be necessary for some courses. Students are responsible for accurately filling forms on the first night of course for submission to the Garda Vetting office by Louth/Meath ETB.
Some courses require students to undertake work experience. Students are responsible for securing placements. Insurance and letter of introduction are available from night class office.
Some courses have special requirements e.g. most QQI level 6 courses require students to have successfully completed level 5 or equivalent. Other courses require students to be already working in a particular field e.g. supervisory management (healthcare) requires students be working in a health care setting.

Learning Outcomes:
1.Outline the requirements necessary to provide for the health and well-being of children in an ECCE setting as informed by national guidelines to include child protection
2.Describe the factors that contribute to the overall well-being of children
3.Outline the various nutritional needs of babies and young children
4.Identify requirements for the promotion of healthy and safe indoor and outdoor environments for children
5.Describe a range of common childhood illnesses
6.Devise balanced menus for babies, toddlers and children
7.Perform appropriate personal care routines for babies and young children including the care of the child when unwell
8.Implement appropriate policies and procedures to include record keeping as required by legislation and good practice guidelines
9.Utilize a range of practice skills that support and promote the health and well-being of children
10.Apply knowledge of child development to support children to form secure and positive relationships with adults and children in the ECCE setting
