This is a two-year full-time course concentrating on advanced interior architectural design. It is concerned with exploring new, exciting and creative ways to re-imagine the built environment through the adaptive-reuse, refurbishment, restoration and conservation of existing buildings and spaces. The course draws inspiration from the cultural and creative energy of the region, together with our physical location on the edge of the Atlantic. We encourage a critical awareness and innovative approach to design, providing a forum for debate, discussion and research through lectures, seminars, interactive workshops and elective modules.

Studio work forms the core of the curriculum. Students are encouraged to develop personal interpretations and influences through the choice of elective focus streams which include interiors without boundaries, innovative building conservation, contemporary furniture design and energy and the built environment.
Mandatory modules include environmental building analysis, architectural research methods, a specialist dissertation and professional practice. The learning experience is accessible, experiential and self-directed in order to promote independence and responsibility within a design team.

Career Opportunities:
