Students must have successfully completed all 16 units of the Higher National Diploma in 3D Design (Interior Architecture and design) at St Johns Central College or may have studied a similar Higher National Diploma at another educational establishment.
Students must attend an interview to determine suitability and produce a full portfolio of both visual and written assignments. Students with a degree in related design areas may also be interviewed for the course in certain situations. |

Step 1
An online application form (only in exceptional circumstance should a hard copy application form be completed) and submitted through the college’s Admissions System accessed through the college website www.stjohnscollege.ie All applications are acknowledged by an automated email.
Currently the college operates three round of offers in March, May and late August/early September, however some programmes alternate interview arrangements posted on individual programme pages on the college website.
Step 2
Places are offered subject a satisfactory interview and meeting the requirements of the programme as laid out in the individual course outlines as displayed in the college website.
Once the criteria above are met a Letter of Offer is issued outlining the registration process and charges to be paid. Upon receipt of a Letter of offer, a successful applicant may secure a place on the programme by paying within 5 working days a minimum deposit. Applicants will forfeit their place of offer if the registration process as laid down is not adhered to.

The university has received numerous accolades and awards in the area of design in recent years and has recently been awarded the title of numbers one design college for UK.
Overview
St. John’s College have established a collaboration with Teesside University, we offer a full BA (Hons) degree on campus here in Cork or if preferred, direct entry to the final year of Interior Architecture & Design Honours Degree at the University of Teesside.
This programme aims:
- to provide a broad and progressive education in Interior Architecture;
- to prepare you for a career as an interior architecture specialist with a particular emphasis on environments, design and usability;
- to support you in the development and communication of creative design proposals;
- to enable you to acquire and develop knowledge of a user-centred approach to spatial design;
- to facilitate the evaluation of environments and buildings in cultural and professional contexts to inform your practice and develop your critical abilities;
- to enable you to acquire and develop transferable skills in order to create or respond to career opportunities or to undertake further study;
- to foster your commitment to your own intellectual and personal development.
