The BTEI provides part-time Further Education programmes for young people and adults. It aims to give participants an opportunity to combine a return to learning with family, work and other responsibilities. Programmes are offered in partnership with a number of agencies throughout the country on a flexible part-time basis. Classes are offered throughout the year in the morning, afternoons, evenings or weekends. Courses lead to a range of accreditation at levels 1-6 on the NFQ.

Course Duration :
Part time : 2 years (2 half days per week)
Students will take 4 components per year

Entry Requirements:
Leaving Certificate/Leaving Certificate Applied or QQ/I Level 4. Mature students with relevant life or work experience. All candidates will be interviewed individually.

Applicants whose first language is not English will be required to take an assessment in English to establish the most suitable level of study for them.

Work Experience:
The Work Experience Component is a mandatory component of the course. Learners are required to complete a work experience placement for this component.

Certification:
QQI Level 5 Major Award in Beauty Therapy

Prospects:
Successful completion of the course will enable learners to seek employment in the Beauty Care industry. Opportunities also exist for learners to progress on to Level 6 Award in Beauty Therapy and other related fields or to study at Third Level through the Higher Education Links Scheme.
