Attend full programme as above with the following extra optional day that provides participants with the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to plan, facilitate and evaluate an activity programme for people with dementia.
Objectives:
• Appreciate the values/benefits of providing activities for people with dementia.
• Understand the need for adaptation of approach for this client group.
• Give consideration to safety issues.
• Assess, facilitate and evaluate involvement in activity programme
• Appreciate the role of documentation In this process
• Plan individualised programmes for residents. Learn suitable activities for early, middle and late stages of dementia.
