| Course Content |
This is a one year course. It is designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of persons wanting a career in the administration of business or other organisations. This course is a Level 6 award and will follow naturally from the level 5 business course.
Class based tuition is supplemented by the student’s own learning at home or in the college computer rooms, working in small groups outside of class time and attendance at tutorials. Work placement is a necessary part of this course. |

Course Certification
Upon successful completion of this course participants will be awarded a QQI Level 6 certificate. |
| Course Fee |
A registration fee of 200 Euros is payable by all entrants to plc courses in Ireland. Those with a medical card, Back to Education Allowance, or a maintenance grant do not have to pay this registration fee. Maintenance grants or Back to Education allowances are available for eligible students. A student service charge of €75 is payable by all students. |
| Financial Support |
Students taking Further Education Courses are eligible for PLC maintenance grants. These grants are means tested and depend on individual financial circumstances. All grant applications are handled by SUSI (Student Universal Support Ireland) www.susi.ie |

A total of 120 credits are required for the certificate, but It is possible to bring forward some modules from a Level 5 course with you towards this Certificate. Some students are “exempt” from one or more modules if they have already studied and passed other examinations considered equivalent. This can be discussed at interview. The following modules are currently being offered which together with modules brought forward from a level 5 business course will complete the requirements for the Level 6 Certificate:

•Business management
•Managing people
•Spreadsheet methods
•Computerised accounts
•Communications
•Administration Practice
•Payroll
Work Experience
Work experience is an integral element of this course as this is a work based programme. Participants are required to attend work experience one day every week in a relevant vocational setting.
