This is one year course designed to prepare students for a career in the treatment of Sports Injuries, Athletic Therapy, Physical Therapy and Physiotherapy. The majority of students successfully completing this course progress onto Third Level Degree Programmes in Institutes of Technology nationwide. This course acts as an excellent foundation for these students. |

All applicants will be invited to an interview to ascertain their suitability for the course. Further applications are accepted over the summer months and similar interviews take place in early September for any remaining vacancies. All applicants will be notified by post as to the results of the interview.

| Entry Requirements |
Leaving Certificate or equivalent is a requirement, together with an interest in sport and the prevention/treatment of injury. Applications will also be welcomed from mature students or recent school leavers. All applicants will be interviewed. |
| Careers or Further Progression |
Graduates from this course may compete for employment as lifeguards and/or sports massage therapists. Alternatively students may choose this course as a progression path to a Level 6 award in Sports, Recreation and Exercise in this college or seek to gain entry onto a range of sports/health related degree programmes in Institutes of Technology nationwide. |
