Introduction
This course focuses on the key skills required to troubleshoot hardware and provide support and advice in a support capacity in a computer company or contact centre. Students will learn the essentials of hardware and networks in a local or cloud setting and how to resolve any security or other issue.

These services include the supply of certain classroom and study materials, field trips, industrial site visits, facilitating the visits of guest lecturers, the provision of extra training (examples include manual handling, patient handling, conflict resolution and leadership courses), free IT and printing supports for students, the availability of many leisure and recreational pursuits and the ongoing support of College teams and societies.
Exemptions:
There are no exemptions from this charge; however a student whose VTOS place has been confirmed will be refunded the charge.

Department of Education and Skills (DES) Programme Participant Contribution
Since Budget 2010 the DES has stipulated that all participants on Further Education (FE) courses are required to pay €200 to secure their place on their chosen course.
Exemptions:
All students who are holders of a medical card or a dependant of a medical card holder, receive VTOS or BTEA are exempt from paying this charge. Students who successfully apply for and receive a student maintenance grant will be refunded this charge.
€50/€80 Examination Fees: Quality & Qualifications Ireland (QQI).
Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) is an internationally recognised educational accrediting body. The vast majority of courses in the college are awarded by QQI. The QQI examination fees for the coming academic year are €50 for a level 5 qualification and €80 for a level 6 qualification.
This fee is paid at registration at the beginning of the year. The remaining courses offered by the College are certified by other accrediting bodies and have their own exam fees. They may differ slightly from year to year due to sterling exchange rates. Course costs on each course page include these fees.
Other Costs
Some courses incur an extra cost which is related to kits, uniforms, manuals etc.
Exemptions: All students who receive VTOS are exempt from paying examination fees; students who are holders of a Medical Card or a dependant of a Medical Card holder are exempt from paying QQI examination fees only.

Step 1: Complete the application form
The application form can be completed online at www.corkcollegeofcommerce.ie. When you apply online you will receive a personal account and ID, this will enable you to view all college correspondence in relation to your application.
(Applicants can complete the application on-line in the college if required)
*For students whose first language in not English, please refer to the International Students section of this prospectus with regard to compulsory English Language Assessment.
Step 2: Attend for Interview
Applicants will be invited for interview at the college. Interviews are held a number of times per year from Springtime through to course commencement. The interview simply acts to match the applicant against the course in terms of suitability, commitment and expectation.
Step 3: Accept Place on Course
Successful applicants will be notified of the offer of a place on a college course by post and by e-mail. Applicants must secure this place by paying the relevant Course Fee before a set date. Failure to do so may result in the place being offered to another applicant.
Step 4: Registration and Induction
When students are offered a place on a course the notification will also contain information regarding dates for registration and induction. All students must attend the college on these
designated dates.
