Course Content This full-time one year course will lead to a QQI Level 5. The programme is provided in association with the National Ambulance Service College and will cover many aspects of healthcare training as well as paramedic topics.

This course will offer the first steps to students wishing to work in the area of paramedics or ambulance work. Students will also have a two week practical work placement in a suitable working environment as part of the course.

Financial Support FE Student Grants
The Department of Education and Science has introduced a maintenance grant scheme for Further Education students. Application forms are available online at www.susi.ie.
A member of staff is responsible for helping students with their grant enquiries.
Interview 1st Round In March/April, 2nd in Mid-May, Late Applicants in Late August and early September.
Application Date Applications are welcome from 1st December of the year preceding the course start year.

Interviews are then held at regular intervals from the following March onwards. First round of interviews will take place during March/April. Second round interviews will take place in mid-May. Late applications will be interviewed when the Leaving Certificate Examinations are finished or in early September.

Careers or Further Progression This course will offer the first steps to students wishing to work in the area of paramedics or ambulance work.

Students will also have work placement in appropriate settings throughout the course and some may progress to further study through the Higher Education Links Scheme both in Ireland and the UK.
