The BTEI provides part-time Further Education programmes for young people and adults. It aims to give participants an opportunity to combine a return to learning with family, work and other responsibilities. Programmes are offered in partnership with a number of agencies throughout the country on a flexible part-time basis. Classes are offered throughout the year in the morning, afternoons, evenings or weekends. Courses lead to a range of accreditation at levels 1-6 on the NFQ.

Course Duration:
Part-time: 1 year, 2 days per week
Entry Requirements:
An interest in acquiring basic computer skills. Each candidate will be interviewed individually.
Applicants whose first language is not English will be required to take an assessment in English to establish
the most suitable level of study for them.
Certification:
European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) QQI Level 5 Component Award.
This qualification equips learners with the general computer application and reception skills required for work in general admin across a range of employment sectors. Learners may also progress to further study at QQI Level 5 in the IT and Business area.
Students who have successfully completed this course have progressed to study for major awards in a variety of vocational areas such as Business studies, IT Skills and social care areas.
