Consumers require attractive, convenient and safe food products that also offer health promoting benefits. This course is the first step to become a skilled scientist necessary for the continuing success and future developments in this industry.
Skills and knowledge in areas such as science and technology, food safety and nutrition are the focus of the course. Throughout the course work students gain insights into the manufacture of current food products and discover how innovative products can be developed.
This Applied Science course is suitable for students who wish to gain employment in the food industry. Mature students from an industry background who wish to advance their technical knowledge and their promotion prospects will benefit from a year on this course.
Many graduates progress to Higher Education in Ireland or the UK.

All applicants' suitability is assessed on the merit of their application forms and by the means of a ten to fifteen minute interview. Interviews will take place in May and September depending on when you apply. All late applicants should check with the College Main Office as quite frequently, we have places still available on some courses in September.
