Hide-This course has been designed to meet current market needs. The course aims to give the student a thorough knowledge of all aspects of health and fitness. This knowledge will enable the students to set themselves up in their own business or go on to further studies using our established links with universities.
It is a full-time course, students will be given extensive training in all aspects of Health and fitness.
We have a full size four court indoor sports hall with a gym and an aerobics studio. Students will learn about, strength and conditioning, exercise testing and programme design. Participants will learn how to rehabilitate sports injuries and prevent further injuries.
They will learn how to coach a range of sports and how to write sports specific programmes with an emphasis on physical. psychological, and nutritional training.
The course aims to give the student a thorough knowledge of all aspects of the following:
Strength and Conditioning training
Fitness testing and programme design
Life Coaching Personal Training
Nutritional advice
Sports psychology
Sports injury prevention
Sports Rehabilitation

Hide-Course fees range from €300 to €400 depending on the course. The fees cover costs of examination entry and certification fees as well as any course materials and personal equipment to students. The fees also cover a range of other services and activities provided for, or engaged in, by the students such as some trips, cultural and sporting events, accident insurance policy fee and student services fund fee. in addition to this, the Government levy of €200 will also apply for those applicants who do not hold a medical care.
Enrolment Deposit
Students who accept the offer of a place on a course must pay a non-refundable deposit of €50. The balance of the fee must be paid on commencement of each academic year.
External Examination Fees
Students who choose to enter for examinations other than those set by QQI and/or BTEC must pay the appropriate exam fees to the relevant examining authority.

The Department of Education and Science has introduced a maintenance grant scheme for Further Education students. Application forms are available online at www.susi.ie.

1st Round In March/April, 2nd in Mid-May, Late Applicants in Late August and early September. |
| Application Date |
Applications are welcome from 1st December of the year preceding the course start year.
Interviews are then held at regular intervals from the following March onwards. First round of interviews will take place during March/April. Second round interviews will take place in mid-May. Late applications will be interviewed when the Leaving Certificate Examinations are finished or in early September.

Requirements
Candidates must have achieved a pass at leaving cert which must include at least One subject at higher level or QQI level 5 to merit or distinction criteria.
Candidates must also provide evidence of a personal interest in sporting activities or physical training. |
