WORK EXPERIENCE
Work experience is an important element of all our PLC courses. The College has a wide range of contacts and can assist participants in obtaining relevant work experience placement.
GARDA VETTING
Garda Vetting is now a requirement for all students who wish to attend Templemore College. Offers of a place are provisional pending the outcome from the Garda vetting process.
GUIDANCE, SUPPORT, AND SPECIAL EDUCATION NEEDS
All students have access to the adult guidance and counselling service in the College. The College will endeavour to provide appropriate supports for students with special education needs and is dependent on the budget received from the funder.
EUROPEAN WORK EXPERIENCE - ERASMUS +
Fully funded opportunities for European Work Experience, for up to 35 students, is provided each year in Germany, France, and Spain. This opportunity is available to students who are interviewed and deemed suitable for this option.

Unless otherwise stated a fee of €245.00 will be payable to include administration and QQI examinations (for students taking QQI Qualifications at level 5. An additional €30.00 is payable for Level 6 QQI Awards).
Theses services fees include a non-refundable deposit of €35.00.
DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION FEES
All learners who enrol on an approved PLC course are required to pay the €200 programme participant contribution to the Department of Education and Science.
The following categories of participant are exempt from paying this contribution:
• Full medical card holders in their own right and their dependent children
• Those who are eligible under the student grant scheme
• Those in receipt of the Back to Education Allowance (BTEA) or Vocational Training Opportunities Scheme (VTOS) allowances.

The range of financial support available to students intending to attend Further Education includes: Maintenance Grant Scheme, Special Rates of Maintenance Grants, and Fund for Students with
Disabilites.

VTOS - Vocational Training Opportunities Scheme
To be eligible you must be over 21 years, and 6 months in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment. This grant may include the cost of some books, lunch and travel expenses. |

All students are now encouraged to apply on-line where possible. However if you wish to complete a paper copy please contact the College. Closing date for the receipt of first round applications is Wednesday 26th April 2017.
Our application service is open from November each year. Early applicants may be invited for interview before May, however most interviews are normally held in May of each year.
Offer of places will be subject to completion of interview, the achievement of the minimum entry requirements, and the completion of the Garda vetting process. Applicants will be notified of their interview results in a timely fashion after the interview.
Late applications will be processed, subject to the availability of places, in late August 2017. As places on all courses are limited, early application is strongly advised.
A non-refundable administration fee of €10 applies to all applications.
Please note that full medical cards (not doctor only cards) may be used in relation to some fees.

This course is ideal for anyone looking to progress to studying software development at further and higher education. Graduates normally progress to Level 6 Computer Systems and Networks (6M17815), also offered in Templemore College.
Alternatively, this course offers prospective students access to third level college, through the Higher Education Links Scheme. In particular, students can gain up to 25 CAO bonus points for entry to the Higher Certificate or the BSc in Computer Management in LIT (Thurles).
Students will also be able to directly apply for one of five WIT college places, reserved especially for Templemore College students.
